鐘樓(cn)China / Beijing / Peking (北京市)tower, bell, interesting place, ----鐘樓原為元代萬寧寺中心閣，明永樂十八年改建為鐘樓。樓內原懸明永樂十八年（１４２０年）鑄的大鐵鐘，高約４.２米，直徑２.４米，體厚０.１７米，重約２５噸，但因其聲音不夠洪亮，被後鑄的銅鐘替換下來，將其放置於墻外，１９８３年又移置於北京大鐘寺古鐘博物館內保存。現懸的銅鐘通高５.４米，直徑３.４米，體厚０.２７米，重約２４噸，鐘體全部由響銅鑄造，撞擊時，聲音純厚綿長，圓潤洪亮，京城內外方圓數千米均可聽到。
