Brick-built viaduct supporting road traffic. Opened on 19th October 1878 by the Vice-Chairman of the Byker Bridge Company. It has a length of 1130 ft/344.65m and a width of 50ft/15.25m (originally 30 ft/9.15m before widening in 1899).
