蛇廟 - 青龍廟，原名“清水廟"(cn)Malaysia / Pulau_Pinang / Sungai_Ara temple, interesting place已有一百多年的历史。位于摈城以南，正名福兴宫，山门刻“青云岩”，供奉清水祖师(宋末抗元英雄陈昭应的法号，晚年隐居福建安溪县为僧，1109年卒于清水岩，乡人立庙祀之)，是安溪陈姓华侨从家乡清水岩传衍来的。 据说1795年前后佛诞时，青蛇进庙偷吃香客供奉的食物，驱之不去，越聚越多，长者一米多(当地人称之为“青龙”)，小者如蚯蚓，盘伏于神龛、香案、烛台、花瓶、梁柱上，状极恐怖。这些青蛇都是毒蛇，但仿佛受过训练，白天静卧不动，既不怕人也不害人，俨然显出修炼成“仙”，任人膜拜，从不伤人。只是到了夜阑人静，才抛开斯文的姿态，狼吞虎咽地把供品一扫而空，据说一条蛇每天可吞食70只鸡蛋。信徒们说是蛇被佛祖感化，其实蛇被香火长期熏陶，变得迟滞，只能靠供食维生，完全丧失了在野外生存的能力了，从生物学角度来看，这是一种退化现象。
