昆侖山口(cn)China / Gansu / Yumen pass, Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Qinghai昆侖山口地處昆侖山中段。海拔4772米，是青海、甘肅兩省通往西藏的必經之地，也是青藏公路上的一大關隘。因山谷隘口而得名，亦稱“崑崙山埡口”，相對高度80－100米，寒凍風化剝蝕作用強烈。崑崙山口屬凍土荒漠地貌，地質係古代強烈侵蝕的複雜變質岩所構成。間有第三紀沉積物構成的丘陵低山和丘。昆侖山口地勢高聳，氣候寒冷潮濕，空氣稀薄，生態環境獨特，自然景象壯觀。這里群山連綿起伏，雪峰突兀林立，草原草甸廣袤。到處是突兀嶙峋的冰丘和變幻莫測的冰錐，以及終年不化的高原凍土層。冰丘有的高幾米，有的高十幾米，冰丘下面是永不枯竭的涓涓潛流。一旦冰層揭開，地下水常常噴湧而出，形成噴泉。而冰錐有的高一二米，有的高七八米。這種冰錐不斷生長，不斷爆裂。爆烈時，有的噴漿高達二三十米，并發出巨大的響聲。昆侖山口的大片高原凍土層， 雖終年不化，但凍土層表面的草甸上卻生長著青青的牧草。每到盛夏季節，草叢中盛開著各種鮮艷奪目的野花。離昆侖山口不遠，便是著名的玉虛峰。玉虛峰，位于昆侖山口東面。這是一座海拔6500多米的雪山冰峰，峰頂高聳巍峨，山體通坡凍封雪裹，山腰白雲繚繞，看上去猶如一位銀裝素裹，婷婷玉立的女子，昂然挺立在群山之上。昆侖山口既是進出西藏的要隘，也是旅游者神往之地。
